There are many strides taken during a marathon. Many workouts over a long time We are a team of registered representatives with a vision for the long run. As our name suggests, life is more a marathon than a sprint and requires significant preparation for success. Marathon Financial Services was founded to help people plan for their future and reach for their goals. Our offices are located in historic downtown Kent, Ohio.
J. Paul Organ, CFP® | Registered Representative
Paul graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1982 with a mathematics degree. He has been married to Mary since 1989. Their son Jack is a student at Calvin College, and their daughter Molly is in high school. Paul assisted as a running coach for Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio and competes himself in races from 800m to the marathon. At an 800m race in July 2007, his time of 2:11.0 qualified him as an All American in the age 45-49 category. He qualified to run in the Boston Marathon in his first attempt at that distance.
Paul serves as a Director of the Kent Area Chamber of Commerce, the Summit Athletic Running Club and the Coalition for Christian Outreach. He is a Founder and former Executive Director of Cornerstone Community School. His family is active in the Presbyterian Church of Kent.
Paul founded Marathon Financial Services to help clients reach for their long term goals. With his background in financial planning, community service and coaching, Paul has a wealth of experience that enables him to assist individuals and small business owners.
Mark Seward, MBA | Registered Representative
Even the best athletes use coaches to help them strive toward their goals. In effect, Mark coaches individuals and small business owners. He helps them define their financial goals and establish a plan of action for meeting those goals. He then delivers regular check-ups to monitor progress, and to make any necessary changes to help clients stay on track.
Mark graduated Phi Beta Kappa, with a bachelor’s degree in Economics, from Denison University. He received an MBA degree from the University of Michigan. While with KeyCorp, Mark lived in Cleveland. He later moved to Washington, D.C., working for several consulting firms, before returning home to Ohio.
Mark serves on the Board of Directors for the Downtown Akron Kiwanis Club. He has participated in Heart-to-Heart Leadership Connection groups for over four years, and is an active member of the Akron Winning Edge Chapter of Business Network International (BNI).
Mark joined Marathon Financial Services to help his clients reach their long-term financial goals. Mark has worked for more than 25 years in the financial services industry. His experience in financial planning, economics and consulting helps him assist individuals and small business owners with their financial needs.
Mark, and his wife Judy, reside in Copley with their Labrador retriever Sam.
Judy Seward | Administrative Assistant
Judy has 9 years experience in the investment services industry and is also a registered representative . Judy joined Marathon Financial Services to keep Paul and Mark on track by taking care of the detailed paperwork needed in managing clients’ accounts.
